The Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal

In addition to the Christian Education program, Good Shepherd currently offers the following for youth. Please call the church office for contact information.

Senior EYC (Episcopal Youth Community)

This group is made up of our high school members of the congregation and friends, meeting regularly from 6 til 8 pm on the first and third Sunday evenings during the 2009-2010 school year. First Sundays start out with an evening meal which is followed by a program or lesson combined with worship. Social gatherings are planned for the third Sundays of the month.

Towel Ministry

Since the summer of 1995, our youth and dedicated adult advisors have traveled to various locations in North Carolina to participate in Towel Ministry work camps. Families and individuals are helped with home repairs that they cannot afford to do themselves. In addition to working together, youth (ages 13-19) and advisors attend morning Bible study, evening group discussions, and daily worship. It is an outreach ministry that teaches our youth that they are the hands of God in the world.

Good Shepherd has also sponsored a series of Mini-Towels to benefit those within our own community. Working with our youth and adults were participants from St. John's Episcopal Church in Decatur and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Hartselle.
